What is Fan Connect and what does messaging cost?

What Fan Connect covers, what email, SMS and WhatsApp cost, how you target and build a send, where messaging runs from, and how consent and opt-outs work.

Fan Connect is the email and SMS campaign tool built into a Studio site. Email is free to send, SMS costs $0.01 per text, and WhatsApp is available for global territories.

What it costs

Email costs nothing to send. SMS is one cent per text. WhatsApp is available in global territories where fans use it as their main messaging app. Fan Connect comes with the Studio, so your team never has to license and set up a separate messaging tool.

Who you can send to

You can send to whatever audience the campaign needs: top spenders, a single city, presale signups or lapsed buyers. Smart Segments are audiences built from how fans actually behave on the page, and they are ready to target as they are. You can also filter an audience by purchase amount, location, purchase date and music preferences, and you can reuse a list you built for an earlier send.

Building a send

You pick the audience, choose email or SMS, and build the message from a template or from scratch. Templates cover new video, new release, events and merchandise. An email carries a subject, preview text, title and description, and you can add photos, names and dates. Send it straight away, or schedule it for a later point in the campaign.

Where it runs from

You run messaging from the Marketing tab. If your team already works in a CRM, you can push a segment there instead. Your EVEN team builds and configures Fan Connect as part of the campaign. The same contacts stay reachable for the next release, the next drop and the next tour.

Consent and opt-outs

Your EVEN team writes the opt-in language with you and confirms it before launch. A phone number a fan adds later does not count as consent to receive texts. Fans reply STOP to any text to stop texts, and use the unsubscribe link in any email to stop emails. The two channels are separate, so stopping one leaves the other running, and no message is ever a condition of buying anything. When your team imports contacts into a list, the import has to come with a confirmation that everyone on it agreed to be added.
