Can we change the tracklist or price after pre-orders open?

What freezes the moment a chart campaign's pre-order goes live, what can still move, and how to route a change.

Written by Andrea Torres

On chart campaigns the tracklist and track count lock when pre-orders open, with no post-release expansion. Minimum-price changes are possible, but chart floors always apply and changes route through your EVEN team so chart bodies are notified.

What locks

The tracklist and the track count lock. The album can't expand after purchase or release, and the release date and tracklist display at pre-order and hold for the duration of the pre-order. Plan the record as final before offers go live.

What can still move

The minimum price can still move. Chart floors apply underneath any change: in the US, digital albums at $7.99 and up report to Luminate, and in the UK chart-reported campaigns carry a £5.49 minimum. EVEN applies the right floor during setup so nothing slips below eligibility, and a price change can't take a campaign under it.

How to request a change

Raise the change in the shared thread with your EVEN team. They make the change and notify the chart bodies, which is the part that protects the campaign. Don't treat a price move as a small edit on a chart campaign, because an unreported change is what puts eligibility at risk.

What fans see

Fans see the release date and tracklist from the moment they pre-order, which is why the display locks. A fan can cancel a digital pre-order for a full refund any time before release day, not counting tracks that already unlocked.

Plan storefront changes early

If a campaign moves to a new storefront URL, that URL needs approval at least 14 days before offers go live. An already-approved live storefront carries no wait. Your EVEN team builds the calendar with you at kickoff, working back from street date.
