How does EVEN report sales?

Direct feeds to Luminate and OCC, what metadata has to be right, and why there is no registration step for your team.

Written by Andrea Torres

EVEN reports on direct feeds to the chart bodies: DDEX-based reporting to Luminate for the US, and daily transaction files to OCC for the UK.

No self-registration

Your team does not register the release with a chart body, submit sales, or manage a reporting account. EVEN holds the data and reporting relationship and handles it end to end. That is the whole point of reporting through a data reporter rather than filing yourself.

Metadata has to be right

Reporting depends on a valid UPC on the album and an ISRC on every track. EVEN does not issue these codes, so they come from your distributor or your own ISRC agency. Incorrect or missing codes are the most common reason sales fail to report, and it is entirely preventable, so your EVEN team verifies them during campaign setup rather than at street date.

What gets reported

Only the initial album checkout reports toward the album. Add-on items and access content do not count toward it, and they do not affect eligibility either. Pre-orders report at redemption, which is the fan's first play or download on or after street date.

Territories

EVEN reports in two territories today: the US, through Luminate for Billboard, and the UK, through OCC.

If a release comes down mid-period

Sales already submitted for a reporting period are not withdrawn. Pulling a release stops future sales, but it does not claw back what has already been reported.
